What is IPMA Level B?
IPMA Level B is a certification for experienced project managers who independently manage complex projects. It verifies the ability to manage more demanding projects involving multiple teams, higher risks or wider organizational impact.
Who is IPMA Level B certification for?
It is intended for project managers with experience in managing more complex projects, who have already mastered standard projects and want to formally confirm their ability to lead more demanding initiatives. Previous experience is assumed, ideally following the lower IPMA C level.
How is the IPMA Level B exam conducted?
The exam combines a written test with documentation of your own project. practice and personal interview with assessors. It assesses how the candidate actually manages complexity, risks and people management in real projects, not just theory.
What is the difference between IPMA Level B and IPMA Level C?
IPMA Level C is intended for independent management of smaller, less complex projects, while Level B already assumes the management of projects with high complexity, more parties involved and greater risk. Level B thus follows Level C as the next step in career development.
