Course description

The course is prepared for owners of the paid version of Copilot.
We skip the basics and go straight into advanced techniques: building super-prompts, working with variables and batching outputs, and applying Copilot across Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote.

Required knowledge

Participants should have an active Microsoft 365 Copilot license and basic hands-on experience with it (entering prompts, working in M365 apps). Please bring a laptop logged into M365 and 2–3 real documents or projects to practice the new techniques on during the session.

Target audience

  • Users with an active Microsoft 365 Copilot license who want to use it to its full potential
  • IT professionals and M365 power users
  • Managers who want to roll out Copilot effectively across their team

Course content

Introduction – Copilot at an advanced level
  • Difference between basic and advanced usage
  • Overview of lesser-known features
Super-prompts and working with context
  • Structure of a strong prompt – context, instructions, format
  • Working with variables, batching inputs and outputs
  • Hands-on exercise using participants' own documents
Copilot in Teams and OneNote
  • Meeting summaries and automatic task assignment
  • Message and email drafts, note transcription
Copilot in Word and PowerPoint
  • Creating documents from templates and briefs
  • Revising and rewriting text
  • Generating a presentation from a document with one command
Copilot in Excel and automation
  • Data analysis and pivot tables without formulas
  • Connecting with Power Automate for process automation
Wrap-up – sharing experience and action plan
  • Strongest use case of the day
  • Personal plan for using Copilot going forward

Objectives

By the end of the course you will be able to:
  • Build complex prompts (super-prompts) that return exactly the output you need
  • Work with variables and batch inputs/outputs for recurring tasks
  • Use Copilot in Teams for meeting summaries, task assignment, and message drafts
  • Automate document work in Word — templates, revisions, rewriting
  • Analyze data and build pivot tables in Excel without manually writing formulas
  • Generate a PowerPoint presentation from an existing document with a single command
  • Set context for consistent Copilot output across an entire project

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need an existing Copilot license to enroll?
Yes, the course assumes an active Microsoft 365 Copilot license. Without it you won't be able to complete the in-app exercises.

Can we get a custom version for our company?
Yes, we're happy to tailor the content to your real scenarios and tools — contact us.

What's the difference between Microsoft Copilot (free) and the paid version?
The free version of Copilot offers basic AI chat with no connection to your company or personal data. The paid versions (Microsoft 365 Copilot for businesses, Microsoft 365 Premium for individuals) add deeper integration into Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams — and for the business version, connection to company data via Microsoft Graph.

What happened to Copilot Pro?
Microsoft Copilot Pro can no longer be newly purchased — support for existing subscriptions ends on August 1, 2026. The replacement for individuals is Microsoft 365 Premium, which includes the same AI features plus additional ones.

Is my company data safe if I use Copilot?
The business version, Microsoft 365 Copilot, follows standard Microsoft 365 data protection policies (Enterprise Data Protection) — Copilot doesn't use your company data to train public models. That said, we recommend confirming the current setup with your IT department for your specific license.

Michal Kolomazník

Michal currently works at Microsoft as an Agile Coach & Principal Project Manager & PCAI, where he leads an AI transformation portfolio with a team of over 70 people. He was at the birth of the Business Value Program and for his work he received the Microsoft SPARK Award and inclusion in the Platinum Club (reserved for the 200 most influential people within Microsoft).

Michal is not “just” a technical specialist or “just” a manager, but he can connect both levels:

  • Technical experience with AI – implementing RAG and agent AI solutions from prototype to production operation, working with Copilot Studio, Azure AI and other tools
  • Change management – certified Prosci Advanced Instructor, i.e. a person who trains and coaches other lecturers and leaders in change management – exactly what is the most common weak point in AI adoption
  • Governance and security – ISO/IEC 42001 certified auditor (AI management systems), CISO certification, experience with Microsoft Sentinel and Defender
  • Business experience – previously Finance Manager at Procter & Gamble (CAPEX and investment planning management for a business unit with a turnover of over 1 billion USD) and Purchasing & Quality Manager at ENGIE
Thanks to this combination, Michal can truly adapt the training to the target group – sometimes he will lead a workshop for company management, sometimes technical training for the IT team and sometimes a practical course for regular users. It is not one universal slide deck, but content tailored to the role, experience and specific situations of the participants.
