Course description

The baseline cybersecurity training emphasizing hands-on practical skills, ensuring the security professional is better prepared to problem solve a wider variety of today’s complex issues.
Baseline cybersecurity skills are applicable across more of today’s job roles to secure systems, software and hardware.
Covering the most core technical skills in risk assessment and management, incident response, forensics, enterprise networks, hybrid/cloud operations, and security controls, ensuring high-performance on the job.

Required knowledge

Students should have basic Windows user skills and a fundamental understanding of computer and networking concepts. Achievement of CompTIA A+ and Network+ certifications, plus two years of experience with IT administration with a security focus

Target audience

This course is aimed toward the IT professional who has networking and administrative skills in Windows-based Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) networks; plus familiarity with other operating systems, such as macOS, Unix or Linux; and who wants to further a career in IT by acquiring foundational knowledge of security topics.

Certification

The exam CompTIA Security+ fee is not included in the price of the course.
The exam includes a combination of multiple-choice questions, drag-and-drop activities, and performance-based items. The multiple-choice questions are single- and multiple-response. The performance-based items test your ability to solve problems in a simulated environment.
There is maximum of 90 questions.
Duration: 90 minutes
A passing score of 750 out of 900 is required to pass the exam.
The Security+ certification is valid for 3 years.
