  • Installation and management of operators including disconnected environments
Connecting OpenShift to LDAP
  • Configuring LDAP Identity Provider
  • Synchronization of groups and RBAC
  • Troubleshooting
Deploying custom SSL/TLS certificates
  • Certificate architecture in OpenShift
  • Exchanging Ingress Controller and API server certificates
  • Trust in enterprise CA, renewal and troubleshooting
Creating node groups
  • Machine Config Operator and custom MachineConfigs
  • Dedicated infrastructure nodes, specialized HW (GPU)
  • Taints, tolerations and node affinity
Persistent storage
  • Persistent Volumes, PVC and Storage Classes

Objectives

  • Understand the differences between Kubernetes and OpenShift/OKD and utilize OpenShift-specific resources
  • Install and manage operators using OLM, including disconnected environments
  • Integrate OpenShift with enterprise LDAP and apply RBAC
  • Deploy custom SSL/TLS certificates for Ingress Controller and API server
  • Design and manage node groups including infra and specialized ones
  • Manage persistent storage (PV, PVC, Storage Classes, NFS, iSCSI)
  • Run Cluster Monitoring Stack, write PromQL queries and configure alerts
  • Apply best practices for operating a production OpenShift/OKD cluster
