MySQL - basics of SQL language

Participants will explain how data is stored in databases, show commands for manipulating data in tables and especially querying data using the SELECT statement. They will also learn more complex querying options, such as joining tables, query conditions, and using functions. The course is also suitable for complete beginners with SQL language. 

• Introduction to the MySQL environment - history, changes, introduction to the MySQL platform, advantages and disadvantages
• Basics of SQL language - syntax, expressions, comments, sample statements, database creation, case sensitivity depending on the platform
• Table structure - data types: numeric, character, binary, NULL value, table creation and deletion
• Commands for working with data - INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE
• Basics of SELECT - FROM statement, data sources, column naming in results, ORDER BY clause, LIMIT
• WHERE condition - AND, OR, NOT, IN, BETWEEN statements, etc., work with NULL
• Joining tables - reasons, principles, JOIN statements - LEFT, RIGHT, INNER, OUTER, CROSS, NATURAL
• Joining queries - UNION, INTERSECT
• Basics of indexes - use, principle, PRIMARY KEY, adding indexes
• Introduction to functions and subqueries - built-in functions, aggregation functions, subqueries EXISTS and NOT EXISTS
